![]() ![]() I do not really see what should crash here in my example. From a facility POV we are now all comparing apples to apples and can work together and all render on the same Linux farm together. I am happy we are getting Renderman and it's being made by the same people that make it for Maya and Houdini. When the guy asked about Octane they politely said: shut up man, we aren't worried about Octane. Renderman has been around for a long time and has been a part of some serious 3D work. ![]() Nothing against Octante but it's sh** like that that makes me cringe at my fellow C4D peeps. How long is a piece of string? How many machines, how complicated is the scene? Like they're sitting around at Pixar and just testing the renderer against Octane. I was embarrassed when people were asking about "how fast" it is? Like literally, "how long did that frame take to render" and "how fast is it compared to Octane". They said it will be a nodal shader at the end of the presentation during Q&A. Also the lack of a nodal shader system can be an issue as the shader creation seems very deep with a bunch of menus and options. ![]()
